Gilly's Traditional Country Music Club .
The club was fairly busy tonight and in view of the weather I'm surprised but then country music folks are hardy folks; This was quoted to me by a couple of the members. On stage its Johnny and Lynette, man and wife in perfect harmony, excellent backing tracks for bass and drums; excellent harmonies too. The first song I heard was, 'Four Strong Winds'. I liked a Connie Smith song, 'The Keys In The Mail Box Come On In'. There was a great atmosphere here in, "Gilly's Traditional Country Club", If you like country music or if you don't, why not give it a whirl. It's held every Tuesday night in Westgate WMC on Grove Road, Wakefield WE2 8TW. There was a song by Loretta Lynn. There were a couple of acoustic songs in their show. Good all rounders are Johnny and Lynette. Love their shows. I liked the George Jones song, 'When The Phone Don't Ring It'll Be Me'. Odd titles I know but it was a good song. Johnny and Lynette closed the set with, 'Oh Lonesome Blues'.
