It's Pat And Mr T's Night Out.
Well every Saturday is our night out. We have our committee meeting to decide where we are going. Our first visit tonight was at a very busy Horbury club where we saw the Spirit Of Smokie. The band's line up is, Dean Barton, lead vocals and guitar, Andy Whelan on lead guitar and harmonies and Graham Kearns is on bass guitar and harmonies.
The first song in the set was, 'For A Few Dollars More'. Great sounds from the stage as they went through the songs of Smokie, coming up, 'Runaway Train ', 'If You Think You Know How To Love Me', there were obviously lots more of Smokie songs the members loved. Every song received a good ovation. There was a medley of Smokie songs. As I have said a few times of late, you really have to see the band to fully appreciate their talent. The one I was waiting for was next, 'Mexican Girl', for me this was the highlight of the set. There was one co written by Dean and one of his musician friends the song was from a Cd and it was called, 'Cut The Wire', the final song in the set was, 'Wild Angels'. A good set guys...
Our next visit was at Westgate Common Club to see, Mad Katz, Maddie and Kelly were in fine voice, lovely stage outfits, short pink or were the orange dresses and silver sequins, like the shoes, their first song in the set we saw was, 'Do You Love Me', followed in a medley by, 'Shake A Tail Feather'. The girls look great on the stage and did lots of dancing. ‘Valerie’, was one of the next songs. There were songs from Dirty Dancing, 'Be My Baby', In certain songs Madeline sounds like not unlike, Lulu. Pat spotted the similarity. One by Connie Francis, 'Lipstick On Your Collar'. The set finished with a Tina Turner song, 'Proud Mary'. Great show ladies; You sure live up to your name, MadKatz is a fast moving show....
Our next call was the Admiral Duncan pub in Wakefield,
It was packed for the band Bulldog. They in top form tonight, one of the songs was, 'Change', just our luck to catch the last couple of songs in their first set. In set two Bulldog opened with, 'The World'. On to one called, 'Dead Or Alive', sounded like a country western song to, whatever it sounded great to me and is a Bon Jovi. The next was, 'Here I Go On My Own', a popular Whitesnake song. There were lots more, this is a band you gotta see.I'm assured they will back here in the “DUNCAN”...
