The Nash welcomed Hayley Rose Tonight.
'You Know How I Feel', was the first song I heard tonight from this lovely singer, Hayley Rose, in the Nash tonight. The club wasn't as busy as usual; quite a few members are on holiday. There was a song called, 'I Love You I Do'. One from the Temptations was, 'My Girl', a special song for me and Mrs T. The last song I heard was 'Immortality'. I had to leave at this point, sorry Hayley. I will catch up again.
My next call was at the Willow Park club where I saw Oldham duo,
Soul Intent, I was just in time for the last song which is another one of
my favourites, 'Drift Away', although I didn't see a lot of this terrific duo, what I did see was enough to know they are an excellent duo. Classic Soul, Motown, Drifters, Blues Brothers are in their repertoire amongst many more. The general view from the audience was the same as mine. Excellent, two great voices in harmony.
Coming up next was Doncaster singer, Ashley James,
He was casually dressed in jeans and a white top. He opened his set
with very modern songs, I didn't know. I did know the Gary Barlow song, 'Let Me Go'. Blues time with a song for us OAP's. I must admit I didn't know many of Ashley's songs, I see him as a young Party singer. One was called, ‘That's All We Need', a song by Blue and, 'All Rise', which was another Blue song. A James Blunt song called, 'Bonfire Hearts'. An encore was a Paulo Nutini song called, 'New Shoes',
The final act was Ami Jayne, from Castleford who sings the songs of
Tina Turner, Cher, Amy Winehouse. Tonight Ami opened her set with,
'Son Of Preacher Man', was a Dusty Springfield hit from the 60's. Ami has a good voice, she was dress in a black trouser suit, like the shoes. Her next song was one by Etta James. The next song was an Ami Winehouse song. Lots more to come from this young lady; like this one that had the crowd singing, 'Build Me Up Buttercup'. Ami's last song was, 'Young Hearts Run Free'. For an encore Ami sang another Amy Winehouse song. Well done Ami.
