New Vintage In Horbury.
Donna Karch asked me to have a look at her son's band, New Vintage, who were in a very busy Victoria Pub in Horbury. The line up is Tyler, the vocalist and lead guitarist, Harry is the drummer and the bass guitarist is Sam. The sound man is, Lucas. Tyler and Sam's Grand Father was the late Eddie, 'Wah'. The bass player, Sam reminds me of Eddie, who as you may know was a great musician. The band opened with, 'Get Your Rocks Off', wow, I didn't expect the quality they showed. The next song was Steppenwolf's, 'Born To Be Wild'. Three good young musicians here, 'Gold On The Ceiling', was the next song followed by 'Teenage Kicks'. Many more hits followed. Some I knew and some I didn't. But I enjoyed the set I saw from these young guys; the total age of the band is 50.
If you would like to book this young band call Tyler Karch on 0779 282 6507 for further information.
In The Prince Of Wales club tonight was Tony Munroe who was part of the Midnight Duo. Very smart stage attire, a great voice which he demonstrated as he sang, 'There Goes My Heart', followed by another oldie, 'Blueberry Hill', one from the great Fats Domino. One from Clarence Frogman, 'Henry, 'I Don't Know Why I Love You But I Do'. Tony was going well with the crowd who didn't miss a line of his songs or his jokes; well he is very good. Tony's next song was, 'Mr Blue Sky', some of his stage movements were real funny; what a voice, 'The Working Man', one by amongst others, David Alexander. There was comedy within Tony's show, just one liners. I liked his version of, 'Your Cheatin' Heart'. Even an oldie called, 'The Wild Rover'. A super set from, 'TONY MUNROE'.
