The Prince Of Wales Club Welcomes, Melissa Radway.
Melissa looked great in a short sequinned dress, like the shoes. She has lovely personality and voice to match. She opened her set with a Shirley Bassey version of, 'Get The Party Started'. She has a good line in 'Patter', not a word I hear very much these days. The next song was an Elkie Brooks song, 'Pearls A Singer'. The club's back drops and lights are excellent. Next was a Cher song, 'If I Could Turn Back Time'. One from the Doors, 'Light My Fire', this next was from way back, 'You'll Never Know'. 'The Lady Is A Tramp' in a swing medley, this performance is pure Cabaret. There were a couple of Frank Sinatra songs in the medley, brilliant. The final song in the first set, 'I Am What I Am', another Shirley Bassey song. Melissa is. Shirley Bassey tribute singer. Just wonderful...
The King George Vth club was very busy when I arrived, top of the bill was performing as I entered the club. BINGO. In charge was the jovial chair person, Martin, a born comedian if ever I saw one. There was a change of artiste, the young lady on stage tonight is the lovely Elisha, from Barnsley. I just missed her first set but was told she went down well. Elisha, looking lovely in an all white trouser suit, like the shoes, opened her second set with a Celine Dion hit song, ‘I Drove All Night', hey what a lovely voice coming from this young lady. One from Connie Francis was, 'Stupid Cupid'. Elisha had her own backing dancer, (singular)' Jeff who was quickly joined by more dancers. The Drifters in a Motown medley were featured and again quickly the dance floor filled up, but. Where were the handbags? Lots more to dance to, Elisha sure know which songs to choose. I'm well impressed with her voice and her personality.
It was lovely to see Rachel Hainsworth. In The George Vth. We had a nice chat and she reminded me of a young singer I saw in a showcase a couple of months ago, she is Hannah Heart. Look out for this young lady, she's a good 'un
