Tonight Pat And I were In a busy Crofton Wmc.
Well we may as well get used to using our future local club, on stage tonight is a band we saw some months ago in Crigglestone Club, 'The Moode', their opening music was '54321', a Manfred Mann hit, followed by a Beatles song, 'Things We Said Today', the band members are well dressed as is the lady keyboards player. I will now continue now I have mopped up a spilled during the set. The next song was. Byrds song, 'Mr Tambourine Man'. I liked Procol Harem’s, 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale'. The sound and lights are good. 'Pretty Flamingo'. A Manfred Mann hit. A Lindisfarne hit was, Meet Me On The Corner'. Even country music, a Johnny Cash song was, 'Folsom Prison Blues'. There were one from the Shadows, Apache, they closed the set with a Small Faces song, All Or Nothing'. Quite a good mix from, The Moode. James was on lead guitar and vocals, on bass its Mel, on drums is Pete and on keyboards Anne Marie..
Next stop at Westgate Common to see if the Spirit Of Smokie found Alice. But no, still no sign so I want to know where she's gone. On stage tonight it's Simina; she has a terrific voice and is always beautifully dressed. She was dressed in along blue sequinned dress, Like the shoes .Her opening song in her second set was, 'You Don't Have To Say You Love Me'. One by Dusty Springfield, a superb opener, good sound system,. The second song was, Cher's 'I Found Someone'. A lot of songs you don't hear too often, this next one was a Smokey Robinson song, 'Tracks Of My Tears'. More from Cher, Adele, I liked Simina's version of 'Black Velvet'. There was an Elkie Brooks song to close the set, 'Pearl's A Singer'. An excellent set Simina'.
Finally we went to our usual Saturday night local, The Admiral Duncan to see a band new to me called, Crazy 88. This is a band replacing the advertised band. They play funky Heavy rock. This one is a U2 song. I don't really know what their material is but they are good at what they do. I gather the one they are playing now is, 'The Streets With No Name'. Then there was, 'Dakota', a Stereophonics track. One called, 'Forget About Me', Lots more but I give in.
