A nice busy Ossett Central Wmc tonight, onstage is a male/female duo called 'Champagne'. Their first song was, 'We Built This City', two excellent voices and good harmonies. Music from a guitar and good backing tracks. There was a medley of Blondie songs, 'Denise, 'Sunday Girl', 'Heart Of Glass', 'Room With A View', 'One Way Or Another', 'Boogie Nights', from the 1970's came next. A good honest duo who really can entertain, loved 'em. The next ones were Stevie Wonder songs, Superstition'.'Signed Sealed Delivered I'm Yours', lots more songs came our way, sufficient to say we liked their show, very lively. It was good to see the dancers. Champagne closed the set with, 'Every Time You Walk In The Room'. One from the Searchers.
The Admiral Duncan was fairly busy, the band tonight was, TAXI. 4 7 piece band, two lead lady singers, three guitars, a lady drummer, and a lady keyboards player and a lady on the drums. Lots of songs from the 70's. An exiting sound. The song they are singing just now, ’Disco Inferno', this was followed by a great version of 'La Bamba' sung in Spanish,(I think), then straight into 'Twist And Shout'. There were some super harmonies. A very entertaining band.. TAXI, 4, 7. There was lots more but I think you’ve got their style.
The band is Wakefield based and the line up, Kat, Heather, Barbara, Sarah, bass guitar, Warren, Russell, Gerard, is the line up.
