Tennessee Union Duo At Gilly’s...
The concert room in Westgate Common Club was very busy tonight for the visit of a great duo from Nashville was supported by three musicians from Leeds. The duo is Colleen and Bill Sims and the Leeds band are, Brian on Rhythm guitar, Tim on drums and Tony on Bass guitar; overall a good sound. The sound system was very good and the singing and harmonies, very good. I liked the lovely Colleen’s voice, it reminded me of Dolly Parton, just a little deeper but the sound was there. She did sing, ‘Jolene’, just for me. Some of the songs I heard were, ‘Baggage Claim’, a Miranda Lambert song, John Conlee’s,‘Rose Coloured Glasses‘, Deana Carter’s, ‘You And Tequila’. There were a couple from Johnny cash and Waylon Jennings which were sung by drummer Bill. A terrific show and thanks to the country lovers for their continued support...
Next week, August 7th, its Wakefield’s own, Dave Bryan who is always well supported so be early to get your favourite seat...
