Monday at Glasshoughton WMC.
The artiste on stage tonight is Louise Nash from Normanton; she looked really good in her stage outfit. A beautiful short black sequinned dress, (obviously not the one in the picture), but then Louise is a beautiful young lady. Her voice just gets better, and she is quite the comedienne. Like the shoes, Louise opened her show with Take That's, 'Rule The World', and what a great voice this lady has. The second song was a Ceelo Green song, 'Forget You'. Songs by Marty Wilde, Legend and lots more from all eras. I like the way she introduced her next song, Enrique Iglesias's, 'Hero'. There was a favourite of mine, Starship's, 'We Built This City'. Louise ended this first very entertaining set with Shania Twain's, 'From This Moment'. An excellent set from Louise Nash...
Round the corner at the George Vth club, also in Glasshoughton, I saw the Collier Dixon Line Country Band. Another full house for this very popular band. They are here at the, 'George' every other Monday night. The line up is, Biff on bass and vocals, Denis on guitar and lead vocals, Stuart on lead guitar and vocals with Johnny on drums and harmonies. I arrived just in time for the second set which was opened with, 'In My Dreams', more songs were,'Don't Tell Me How The Story Ends', 'Me And Bobby Magee'. A great section of country music songs. I don't know them all But, it's easy listening which is what I did after hearing the ones listed above.
You can see the Collier Dixon Line tonight, Tuesday July 1st, at Gilly's in Westgate common club where Denis says there WILL be 6 prizes in the raffle.... If you want to see this great country band, as Gilly would say, 'Gerrin Early'.
