The Horse Vaults was busy on Sunday night, (tonight). On stage was a beautiful young lady, 'Kim B'. She looked great in a gold sequinned dress, like the shoes, Kim has lovely voice which has vastly improved since she started in the clubs; a few of her songs were, 'Walking In Memphis', 'Manic Monday'. The one she is singing now is a super version of,' Fever!'. Liked the long S’s.. There were lots more songs in this 45 minute set and then over to the Red Lion for a repeat. There were lots of dancers on the floor, a right comical lot too. A couple of Shania Twain songs followed and some Abba, a super set from Kim 'B'. The dance floor was filling up again as Kim sang, yes folks, 'Penny Arcade', nowt wrong wi Penny Arcade. A new one for me was Megan Trainor's 'Future Husband', on to Human and another couple to end a terrific set from Kim B.
Before I left the Vaults I listened to Gary Lane and Ellie Gent singing Meatloaf's', 'I Would Do Anything For Love But I Won't Do That' in superb harmony. Move over Meatloaf. It was absolutely brilliant.
Over At The Prince Of Wales Club.
It was a little quiet, Holidays was the reason I was given. On stage its Tracey Rhodes, she looked good lovely in her stage dress, black and silver sequins, like the shoes. Stacey has a lovely voice and good stage equipment. Her first song was, 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun'. Next was an Adele song, 'Someone Like You', next we had a Dusty Springfield song, Son Of A Preacher Man' 'Why Do Fools Fall In Love ', 'Big Spender' was next. Many more from this young lady who is improving in leaps and bounds; Miss Stacey Rhodes.
It's a Full House in, ‘The Ambience’, this was formerly the Pontefract Ex-Servicemen's club, it is now Officially A Pub and it’s called The Ambience.
On stage tonight is John Fitzpatrick who looked really smart, no changes there, I arrived here just in time for the Bingo. Sharon wasn't playing tonight. John opened his second set with, Neil Sedaka's 'Calendar Girl'. Yes, the voice is still good, songs by Emile Ford and plenty of comedy. Lots more music, if you haven't seen John Fitzpatrick, you don't know what you're missing. I liked his version of, Billy Fury's, 'Like I've Never Been Gone', songs by Dave Edmunds, Matt Monro, Cliff Richard, to close this set he chose, 'The Working Man', a David Alexander song.
