The Willow Park Social Club.
Tonight it's The Ricky Graham Leisure Audition Night.
On stage was a male / female duo from Matlock Derbyshire called, Paper Kite. Two voices in harmony; they opened their set with, 'I Got The Music In Me'. They were well dressed with Nikki wearing black trousers and a sequinned top. Like the shoes. Charles has a dark suit and a green tie on, very smart but very warm. The song coming next, 'Hit The Road Jack' a song by Ray Charles from the 60s. On to some songs from the 90s, this one is called, 'Love Shack', a B52s hit song. Quite a lively duo her folks; Charles reminds me of the late Ronnie Dukes, never still... They announced their last song as 'Counting Stars', no chance; there were a couple more. They were asked to do a couple more and duly obliged. There was a medley that included ‘Be My Baby', 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow'. 'The Leader Of The Pack'. The final song, I think was, ‘Tell Me Ma'. That folks was the last song. A very good set from, ‘Paper Kite’.
Albion Street Club, (The Nash), was very busy when I arrived around 10pm. On stage was Glynn Davies. Dressed smart as per, some of his songs were, 'Shang A Lang', 'Saturday Night At The Movies', 'Come On Over To My Place', 'More Than A Number In My In Little Red Book', I was just in time to hear the end of his second set. Even a short set and I still loved his music. Glynn Davies...
