Ricky Graham Leisure Auditions At Willow Park Social Club.
I was accompanied by our great friend, Sharon Fitzpatrick tonight, (With Pat's permission). We arrived earlier than I usually do so there were not many in the club. There were three acts auditioning tonight, the first was ‘Level Two’, a two man duo from Wakefield, they appeared on stage immaculately dressed in black outfits and white shirts. Good PA and musicians, (keyboard and guitar, good voices, good harmonies. Their first song was a Jackie Wilson and 'a Bee Gees song. As well as the live instruments Level Two had some good backing tracks. There were songs from the Stylistics and then there were two guitars. The Everly Brothers were featured in a medley. Their last song was ELO's 'Mr Blue Sky's'. A good set from Level Two.

Ellen R from Morley was next up; this lady loves country music, as I do but also sings other genres. She has a good sound system and backing tracks. Ellen opened her set with a song 'Sugar Town', by Nancy Sinatra, ‘Crazy’, a Patsy Cline favourite, one not heard for ages was Doris Day's,'Que Sera Sera', Nancy Sinatra's ,'These Boots Were Made For Walkin' There were songs by the Carpenters, The Shirrelles, Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline, Shania Twain'. Amy McDonalds, 'Where You Gonna Sleep Tonight'. Ella ended her set with, 'Hallelujah', an Alexandra Burke's chart hit. I have to say, Ella has nice voice and looks great in a short black dress with a silver chain around her waist over black net tights and...Wait for it..... Like the shoes.

Paul Stone from Huddersfield. Recently returned from Tenerife where he was a Billy Idol tribute singer. A touch of comedy and his stage outfit was fantastic, like the shoes lots of glitter and sparkle. His first song was, 'Mony Mony', what a character and a real entertainer. Songs from the 70's 80's and 90's. The facial expressions, hilarious. He sang one called the Plastic Song. There was a 'Mister Mister' song, 'Broken Wings', and one called. 'Never Tear Us Apart' By Inxs. There was a T Rex rocker, '20th Century Boy', what a showman, Paul Stone as Billy Idol... Although at times he looked like Freddie Starr..
