Willow Park Fund Raising Show.
It was great to see a full house at the Willow Park Social club in Pontefract where Harry Turnstyle compered a show in aid of The Castleford Girls White Rose Football Club. The show was organised by Linzi Baxter and compered by Harry Turnstyle. On the show were a young lady called Allie; who looked stunning and sounded good as she sang, ‘Knew Somebody and Unfaithful’. Next up was the ageless Jimmy Echo; he never looks any older than the man I knew over 25 years ago, (Well maybe a bit). Jimmy was in fine voice despite having a cold. Some of his songs were, ‘Human', 'I Just Can’t Help Believing', 'If I Could Turn Back The Hands Of Time' and 'Love Has Been a Friend To Me’. He dropped quite a few good NEW jokes in too. The final act was the very funny and talented singer, “Sonya”. What can’t this lady do? As often stated, Sonya doesn’t actually tell jokes, it’s her one liners and her facial expressions. Some of this amazing lady’s songs were, ‘Don’t Stop Believing’, Forget You’ and appropriately, ‘I Am What I Am’ and she is!!! What a show, the raffle and the auction raised in excess of £800. Well done you guys. The Featherstone Rovers Coach Daryl Powell turned up at the club with a signed Featherstone Rovers team shirt for auctio,
