The Bluebell Wood Hospice Benefits From Charity Event.
What a super day out for Pat and I today [Monday]. We went to the Fairway Hotel at Dodworth near Barnsley where we saw displays from a group of Zumba dancers... Oh, So fit, and a group who were doing “Bokwa”which was equally as energetic and 8 hours later I am still worn out, and that was just watching... I will be posting a couple of posters in the morning so you can see how to get involved... there was a group of singers who sang songs from Oliver, Wicked and Jekyll And Hyde. Some individual singers from the group were, Rachel who sang a song from, Wicked, Scott sang, ‘This Is the Moment’ Hannah sang, ‘Defying Gravity’ and the whole group sang ‘We Will Rock You’. Lucy sang in a short set, ‘I Never Knew His Name’. ‘Kiss Me Honey - Honey Kiss Me’ and a lovely version of ‘Send In The Clowns’.
The compere for the cabaret show was one dapper Steve Andrews who is on our clubs circuit; he is always very smart on stage. He opened the cabaret with a few well chosen songs that included, ‘Love Is In The Air’ and ‘The Answer’. An excellent set Steve, he went on to introduce a lovely lady called, Sasha ‘T’. She looked lovely in a purple dress, (My favourite colour), Lts. Something else Sasha wears on stage is a great big smile, she just loves
singing and entertaining. In her set Sasha sang, ‘Mighty Reel’, (I think), ‘Da Do Ron – Ron’, I loved the choreography for this song, ‘I Can’t Help Myself’ and many more. Another smashing act and a lovely voice from Sasha ‘T’.Look out for her and see her full show...
The last entertainer was one, Ricky Graham who as everyone knows, I have a high regard for. He is always immaculately dressed for the stage. His stage presentation is first class and has a very relaxed approach to his singing. In his set he sang, ‘I Am A Song, Sing Me’, ‘If Tomorrow Never
Comes’, ‘The Night Has A Thousand Eyes’ and ‘Dance With My Father’. Another great performance from Ricky Graham...
We mustn’t forget the guys who had their legs WAXED, Ouch and helped to raise £1,264 for Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice...
Well, what a lovely afternoon. There was a fire engine there for
the kids to have a look at and explore, a Police van where the kids were
delighted to switch on the blues and twos... The sound was looked after by Alvin who was one half of Hot Property. He now runs a theatre group and has a recording studio. He will be sending me more details for this...
Stop Press!!! The Barnsley Jazz Club made a donation and the total is now...£1,400 ... Well Done to Emma for organising this terrific event...
