Westgate Common Club was packed tonight despite the bad weather. The games room and the lounge were busy for the football and the pool and darts matches.
The concert room was full of country music fans; on stage was a superb duo, two of the very best guitarists in country music, Stu Page and Richard Harding who both play in bands. Their music and vocals were great, I liked the inter changing when they played guitar solos and the harmonies in their songs. Some of their renditions were, ‘Hello Trouble’, a Buck Owens number, there was a song called, ‘Galway Girl’, in which Stu switched to Mandolin and a kind of guitar duel called, ‘Jerry’s Breakdown’. Wow, it was certainly a different style of Country Music in Gilly’s CMC. You never know what’s coming next...
