The last time I saw Victoria Stead, I only caught three of her songs and she was almost at the end of one of those; tonight I was determined to get a full set so off I went to Batley WMC. It was very quiet and dark, when I asked what was going on I was told that the generator had stopped. When it got going again it was 9 ’O clock. Victoria was on stage by 9 – 15. She looked fantastic in a short black dress and a wide silver bejewelled belt, Lts. She carries a good PA System. She opened her set with a Foundations song followed by Rosemary Clooney’s version of ‘Sway’, who says the old songs are the best, well me for one; this track was amazing and I don’t use that word very often. Victoria sang lots of Motown songs and the members in the club thoroughly enjoyed them. Her stage presentation is top class and her movements are class. [Victoria is a fully trained dancer]. She closed her set with Celine Dion’s ‘Think Twice’.Look out for Victoria’s three girl’s band, the Angelettes who will be appearing near you soon...
