The Boot & Shoe Welcomes Madeleine Roberts,
Elle Gent who presents the entertainment opened the show with a Shania Twain song,
'Honey I'm Home' and then introduced Madeleine; she looked fabulous in a black, green
and gold sequinned dress over black leggings, LIKE THE SHOES. Madeleine has a lovely voice and a super personality. The crowd were with her from the word go. Madeleine opened her set with a Queen song, 'A Crazy Little Thing Called Love', She has a certain charisma which I like. The next Song was, ‘Twisting The Night Away'. Songs from The Beatles, Mick Jagger, Manfred Man, Amen Corner and Showaddywaddy were featured. A super set from Madeleine Roberts. Madeleine sings in a successful duo with Katalina called, 'MadKatz'.
If you get the chance go and see this lovely duo.
Westgate Common club was busy again; as usual it was an attentive listening crowd for the
band on stage, 'Three Dollars More', formerly Two Dollars More, The band is made up of
Phil Steel on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Russ Kitchen on vocals and lead guitar with
Jim Orchard on guitar, mandolin and banjo and backing vocals. Good sound from the guys. Some of their songs tonight were, ‘Woking Man’, Merle Haggard’s, ‘If We Make It
Through December’, Dwight Yoakum’s, ‘Guitars Cadillac’s and Hillbilly Music’.
Another new one on me folks, ‘Job Description’ an Alan Jackson song. They finished the night off with a terrific medley of songs from way back when. Yes folks, another great night here in:- Gilly’s Country Music Club at Westgate Common WMC, Wakefield.
