Bonnie Back From Keeping It Live?
Yes folks, Bonnie was in the showcase
earlier this week and I'm pleased to say
gave a good account of herself. Well, tonight, here in 'The Nash', in Albion Street, Castleford she did it again. Well done Bonnie, she looked terrific in a short white dress,'like the shoes', Her voice was certainly on form, Bonnie has started singing a Blondie Tribute show that is good to know, there was a Bruno Mars song, Amy Winehouse was featured when Bonnie sang, 'Back To Black". Bonnie sang 'Crazy', a Patsy Kline favourite. There were plenty of songs from the 1960's to suit the 'Nash' members. She ended her first set with an Abba medley.
In the second set Bonnie opened with a Helen Shapiro song, 'Walking, Back To Happiness'; in this set Bonnie was wearing a short brightly coloured dress and gee! I really do 'Like The Shoes'. There were songs of Dusty Springfield, KC And The Sunshine Band, an excellent variation of material. Bonnie sure has got the, Voice, one song I hadn't heard for some time was 'One Fine Day', (but not the song from Madam Butterfly)", This was one from the Chiffon's; there were Brenda Lee songs and many more from this remarkable young lady including a medley of songs from the war years. I can remember a few years ago at Lupset Lodge Club in Wakefield, I staged a charity show for the Royal British Legion and Bonnie sang that medley and it went really well. I hope to see a full 'Blondie' tribute show in the near future...
