Westgate Common WMC was extremely busy for the visit of The John Taylor Band from the North East, near Redcar. The band is top quality with five great musicians on stage; the harmonies are note perfect. The lead singer is of course John Taylor who, as one lady who knows her country music said, could hold his own in Nashville, I agree Mags. The lead guitarist, Tony, is amazing and his voice on the harmonies is really tight, the excellent bass man is Tom and the drummer is Lee; both top dollar. I do know the keyboards, guitar and piano accordionist, Darren who plays in the duo, Clear Cut. I was there with some friends, Sharon and John to catch the second set which they opened with a song called, ‘Woodstock Nation’, followed by, ‘Natural Born Lovers’, ‘Young Man’s Town’, ‘Free Fallin’ and ‘Lost My Chance’. The song I really loved was Ketty Lester’s, ’Love Letters’, well sung John... I really must mention the floor show from 'Dancer', Sheila who was both entertaing and so funny... You really must see the John Taylor Band if you see them billed anywhere near you...
