The Collier Dixon Line country band was on form when I saw them on a rainy Monday night at the George Vth club in Castleford. This band seems to go on forever. The Line up is Dennis on guitar and lead vocals, Stuart is on lead guitar and harmonies, although he does take the lead in some numbers, Biff is on bass guitar and like Stuart takes the lead in some songs; tonight he sang 'Heaven Ain't A Lot Like Dixie' after some false starts, (I think he was testing the other guys and it brought a few laughs). On drums it's Johnny who harmonises in some songs. Dennis sang a medly os about 5 Kris Kristofferson songs. I liked their country version of, 'Walk Right Back'. and 'More Than I Can Say'. Four great musicians and the harmonies are note perfect, ask Biff. The Collier Dixon Line perform at the George Vth every other Monday so the next show will be on the 8th of October...
