Take a young Dame Edna Everage and a young Sue Pollard and what have you got? A superb and very professional “Entertainer” called Sonya! I saw this lady at Middlestown WMC recently where she was going really well. She appeared on stage dressed in a gold sequined off the shoulder dress over black tights, I loved the shoes... Sonya opened her set with Celine Dion’s ‘I’m Alive’. That showed off her very powerful voice; Now Sonya doesn’t tell jokes as such but her merry quips between songs are hilarious. She can pull faces to look like Edna Everage and often sounds like Sue Pollard. Wow! can this lady sing?, I'll say... UB 40’s. ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’ was next after which she received a tremendous ovation and 7 ‘whoops’. Sonya appealed for some more of these ‘whoops’ because she said, “Trevor’s in tonight” this prompted the audience to start ‘whooping’even more, I lost count of how many but there were lots; they really loved her show. Sonya also sang in her set songs by, Eliza Doolittle, Dion, Bon Jovi, Take That and Diana Ross. What a superb singer/entertainer. That’s Sonya who is available through the Ricky Graham Leisure Agency...
