Second Semi Final of The Castleford Star Search 2011…the show opened with compere Jonathan Carroll who sang ‘Hungry Eyes’. He introduced the first contestant, the smartly dressed Thomas Pywell. He sang in his set Take That’s ‘Shine’, The Beatles, ‘Let It Be’, Bryan Adam’s ‘The Summer Of 69’ and Shane Ward’s version of, ‘Stand By Me’. A very good opening act.
Dan Smith opened his impressive set with ‘Let Me Entertain You’ sang the next act, a good opener, ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’, Dan then sang Michael Buble’s ‘Feeling Good’ as he settled into his comfort zone and finished his set with, ‘Queen’s, Who Want’s To Live Forever’. Well done Dan…
Robbo, Looking dapper in black evening suit and bow tie opened his set with Kenny
Rogers ‘She Believes In Me’. - Bobby Darin’s‘ Don't Rain On My Parade’, ‘Hurt’ the
Elvis version and went on to sing two more of Elvis’s songs, ‘My Way’ and
Burning Love’ yet another good performance from Robbo.
Jonathan Carroll opened the second Half with ‘The Circle of Life’ and introduced:-
Kayleigh Pearman, dressed in a stunning gold sequin dress; Kayleigh sang in her set, ‘ I Who Have Nothing’, Celine Dion’s ‘ I'm Alive’, ‘The Music Of The Night’ from The Phantom Of The Opera and ‘Love Never Dies’ From the show, Love Never Dies.
Luke Murgatroyd was the next contestant, also looking very smart, he sang in his set,‘Forget You’ by Ceilo Green, Gareth Gates version of‘Spirit in the Sky’, (The Kumar’s version) Michael Buble’s, ‘Feeling Good’ and finished his set with ‘Till I hear
You Sing’ from the show Love Never Dies. A very confident young man who showed off some new dance moves!.
Adam Le Fever, was the final contestant, looking very smart as always; he opened an impressive set with, ‘He Ain’t Heavy He's My Brother’,followed by a rousing Tom Jones song, ‘She's A Lady’, ‘Mac The Knife’, (Bobby Darinstyle). Adam finished his set with Frank Sinatra’s ‘My Way’. Another one that can move on stage.
The judges had a difficult task choosing the three to go on to the final who are;-
