Ricky Graham Leisure Auditions.
It was good to see the Willow Park Social club busy on Thursday night; there were four auditionees...
Daniel Fox, a young man from Manchester, has a good voice and looked good on stage. Some of his songs were by, Take That, Danielle Merryweather, Erasure and T Rex. I Enjoyed his set.
Enter Doncaster lady, Kay Gale looking good in a black sequined dress over black tights, (Lts). In her set Kay sang, ‘Hit Me With Your Best Shot’, ‘Pack Up Your Troubles’, One I particularly like was her version of the Richard Marx song, ‘Right Here Waiting’ finishing her set with, ‘These Boots Were Made For Walking’.
The second half started with Huddersfield singer, Graham Cox; he looked like a rock singer. He has a good repertoire that included, Steelers Wheel’s, ‘Stuck In the Middle’, Elton John’s ‘Candle In The Wind’, that was really special, there was Kenny Rogers, ’Lady’, The Beatles, ‘I Saw Her Standing There’ and Snow Patrol’s ‘Chasing Cars’.
The final act was a lady from Leeds, ‘Leanne’ who I remember from a few years ago in Lofthouse Gate club. What a lovely strong voice. She looked great in her stage outfit, (Lts)... some of her songs were, Cee Lo Greens, ‘Forget You’, ‘Do You Love Me’ in the style of the Blues Brothers along with ‘Shake A Tail Feather’ by the same duo. Leanne finished her set with a couple of slow songs, Whitney Houston’s, ‘The Greatest Love Of All’, and a lovely version of ‘Unchained Melody’ finishing off a super night of entertainment... well done to Bill,. The concert chair who, as always, makes everyone feel welcome.
In the club were a number of entertainers who I had chats with; Kim ‘B’, Madeleine Roberts, Danny Barton, Robbie J, John and Sharon Fitzpatrick, Jonathan Carroll and Sue Cunniff, Demmi and quite a few others... It’s a good night out at the Willow Park club both on Concert nights and Audition nights... the next auditions will be on the last Thursday in January 2013... Come and see us...
