A Hose Pipe Ban? I think enough rain fell tonight to abandon that law don’t you? The weather certainly affected the attendance at the Willow Park social club in Pontefract for Ricky Graham Leisure’s audition night. There were four auditionees of which I saw three. The first act was Richie Cullen from Halifax who was dressed smartly, a good voice and good equipment. He sang in his set, ‘Beautiful Noise’, ‘Take It Easy’ and ‘Have I The Right’, A Honeycomb's number one in July 1964...
The second act was a young lady called Natasha Bosely from Rothwell near Leeds. I have seen Natasha before and I like her style. She was a bit on the nervous side but performed well; she has a good sound system, dresses well for the stage and Lts. Natasha has a strong voice and some of her songs were, ‘Next To Me’, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, ‘Rocking All Over The World’ and Celine Dion’s, ‘Think Twice’.
The third act was Morley girl, Amy Louise who was dressed in a short black sequined dress and Lts. A good sound system, a good voice and personality; some of Amy’s songs were, ‘Sway’, ‘Bleeding Love’, (I‘ve not heard that for a while), ‘Run Around Lou’ and ‘Never Forget You’. I was on my way out by the time the last act took the stage; I just managed to catch his first song in which he had the sound of Neil Diamond in his voice. I’ll speak to Harry tomorrow for his name, he sounded very good but I had to leave...
