The Red Lion...
Full marks to landlord 'Trio' and his family at the Red Lion on Dewsbury road, Ossett; they are turning the pub round with serving meals and staging live entertainment. On Saturday night Pat and I called in to see 50’s and 60’s harmony band Vinyl Legacy. The guys in the band are always casually smart and can certainly play their instruments.well rehearsed with the harmonies and a great set list. They opened their show with the Beatles 'Nowhere Man'. Check out, ‘Vinyl Legacy’..They will be appearing at Sharslton Rugby club on Saturday 31st March...
Over to Horbury club where it was a full house in the concert room, the lounge and the games room. The car park was full to... always a good sign. We saw the latest soft rock duo, American Heartbeat. Two great singers, first class sound and lights systems. Most people will know Helen – Marie from the Red Rocks duo was wearing a real rock chick outfit; Basque, a lace top and waistcoat over black tights and LT Boots. Darren Sweeny was casually smart in a jacket and trousers; he did wear a shirt and TIE. Darren was in a Queen Tribute band in Benidorm. The band was called 'One Vision'. Last night they played the music of, Whitesnake, (Here I Go Again On My Own), Foreigner, (‘Hold The Line’). Toto, (The Glory Of Love). Chicago, Meat Loaf were other bands and artistes songs. Pat liked ‘The Voice’ by John Farnham. The members loved, American Heartbeat... I’m sure this duo is destined to go a long way...
And Finally......
The Admiral Duncan was busy on Saturday night where the band Eskimo Pets were playing. As it was late when we got there we only caught the last 20 minutes. some of the songs that kept the dance floor busy were, ‘Sex On Fire’, ‘Shout’,‘The Best’, ‘The Twist’ and ‘Do You Love Me’.the dance floor was very busy...Next week at ‘The Duncan’, It’s Ewan Me, a pop/rock duo...
