Hospice Show at the Coliseum…
We could have done with a few more supporters last night for the Charity Show in aid of the Prince of Wales Hospice but however the people there thoroughly enjoyed the show. Jonathan Carroll opened proceedings with a song, 'All Night Long'
and went on to introduce the Claws who are the official Cheer leaders for Castleford Tigers. That was lovely you girls; acts who had turned up to give their services free of charge. First was that lady, Patti Brook, what a Star she is, she delighted the audience with her wit and her lovely voice as she sang Sweet Nothins’ and Lollipop. Patti was followed by Louise Webster who, although still a young ‘un has quite a few years of experience. She sang for us ‘Human and’ Some One Like You’. Louise was followed by 15 years old Jess Walker, wow, what a voice and the confidence just oozed out of her. Jess sang ‘To Make You Feel My Love and She Said’. Next was “The One and Only” Ricky Graham who was on form, I call him the master… go and see his show; Ricky sang for us, ‘Crackling Rosie’, The Answer and Dance With My Father’. .
Closing the first half of the show was The Sharpe Experience; I have said before these twin brothers are really funny. No jokes here folks, I’ll leave that to the professionals safe to say that they went down a treat.
In the interval there was a display, (Is that the right word?) of Body waxing when two of Castleford Tigers first team players, Richie Mathers and Brett Ferres “Volunteered to be waxed. My eyes are still watering at the thought of it.
There was a Dutch auction and a raffle with lots of prizes, thanks for all the donations to the local traders.
The second part of the show was opened by Jonathan Carroll who introduced Emma Dale, this lady has grown in confidence and her stag outfits are a pleasure to see, she sang, ‘Make You Feel My Love and Burning Love’. Emma was followed by Mike Summers who looked very smart; Mike has a strong voice. He chose ‘Cry Me A River and I Just Haven’t Met You Yet’. Mike was followed by Amy Thomas who organised the whole thing with help from Jonathan Carroll and some of Amy’s team from the POW Hospice. She has a delightful voice as you will be able to hear when she produces the next show in Sharlston Rovers Club in, we think August, and we will let you know. The final act was Lucas Primmer whose voice has improved so much over the past couple of years; he sang, ‘The Climb and Sex On Fire’. Jonathan brought the show to a close with a song, ‘The Circle Of Life’. He announced that £560 had been raised. Thanks everyone for this magnificent effort...
