Horbury WMC Welcome Huddersfield Duo,'Innuendo'.
Another full house in this very popular club; the Innuendo duo appeared on
stage in great outfits. Mel was wearing a bright red striped top over shiny
black tights, like the shoes; Tony was wearing a black top with silver horizontal stripes, black stage trousers, like the shoes, (patent leather)'. Their stage presence is superb and the voices and harmonies were excellent. 'Do You Like Good Music' was a well chosen opening song followed by the Wool Packers,‘Hill Billy Rock Hill Billy Roll', and 'Da Doo Ron Ron', a Crystals top ten hit.Pat and I loved the Elvis Presley hits, ‘Don’t Cry Daddy', 'In the Ghetto', there was Bryan Adams, 'Summer Of '69'. Hey, a great choice of songs from the duo. One from Roxy Music, 'Let's Get Together'. A Queen medley and quite a few more in this very different first set that included some good old Soul music...We just loved ,'Innuendo'...
Carrie Michaels was on stage when we arrived in Westgate Common club, she replaced the advertised artiste. She looked great in a knee length peach coloured dress with silver accessories, like the shoes, there were lots of different styles of songs from Tina Turner to Chubby Checker to Motown and many more. Carrie finished her set with 'This Is My Life' in the style of Shirley Bassey. A good set from Carrie Michaels...
It's Big Day in the 'Duncan, this 5piece band has been here in the Admiral Duncan a few times now and went down well playing covers of the Kinks, Sledgehammer, The Wall, Chasing Cars, Sex On Fire. Delilah, Summer Of '69 Don't Look Back In Anger, Another Brick In The Wall, were just a few of their set. A terrific band, a bass guitar, a lead guitar, keyboards, drummer and a lead singer. A brilliant band, lots of note perfect harmonies, not over loud, just perfect for Mr T. Look out for, ‘Big Day’.
The Dance floor was buzzing too, I noticed three girls who were putting all their energy into their dancing and seemed to know all the words to the songs. Alison, Amy and Theresa made all the right moves especially to the Madness songs. A super end to a super night...
