Tonight at Glasshoughton Wmc it's the 6th heat of the prestigious
Blackpool Preview shows,
Amy Thomas was the first act tonight, she looked stunning in her stage wear, a short black dress adorned with silver trimmings, (sequins Like the shoes). Amy has a lovely voice and opened her set with, 'Nine Times Out Of Ten', 'Third Finger Left Hand', a great Motown song. Amy's version of 'Babe' by Styx was superb. One from the 60's by the Drifters, 'Hello Happiness', more songs were by, Michael Jackson, Gladys Knight. A good set by Amy Thomas,
Vince Berry was next, he was casually dressed, like the shoes, Vince has a very powerful voice, he opened with, 'Here Comes My Baby', a Tremeloes hit song. Vince is a sixties tribute artiste these days, his next song was a Manfred Mann song, Rag A Muffin Man'. There were lots more from Vince. The Yardbirds, Dave Dee, Dozy Beaky Mick and Titch, Brian Poole And The Tremeloes, Freddie And The Dreamers, and many more. His last song was a Bee Gees song, 'To Love Somebody', good set Vince Berry.
Up next was, 'Bubbles', who was wearing a black fishtail dress adorned with sequins and diamante decorations. Like the shoes, Bubbles has a super voice and opened her set with, Vanessa Hudgens 'Start Of Something New' then we had the Pussy Cat Dolls, 'Sway'. Gladys Knight's, 'Don't Change Your Mind', Bubbles sang a great version of Billy Ocean's, 'Red Light Spells Danger'. Bubbles closed her set with Cilla Black's, 'Anyone Who Had A Heart', (The Sheridan Version). Nice set Bubbles.
Marie -Marie are a mother and daughter duo, that’s Donna and Becky. Don't ask which, they both look so young and beautiful, (cue for a song?)' two lovely voices in perfect harmony, they opened their set with, 'One Night Only', a Jennifer Hudson song, lovely. One from, Les Miserable, 'I Dreamed Dream'. The next song was one called, 'No More Tears', a Barbra Streisand song. 'Bring Me To Life', a lovely song by Evanescence. Marie - Marie followed with Tina Turner's, River Deep Mountain High'. A lovely show from these two ladies, Marie – Marie they closed their set with a song from Sister Act., I Will Follow Him.
