Glasshoughton WMC:-
Blackpool Command Preview Show.
As busy as Christmas was a remark from some of the members; we'll it was very busy. There were four acts hoping to be chosen for Friday April 4th, 2014 at the Horseshoe Bar in Blackpool.
The First act was Stacey Rhodes; Stacey looked lovely in a black dress, (like the shoes); Stacey has a lovely powerful voice and a nice personality. Her first song was Emeli Sande's 'Clown', One from Connie Francis, ‘Stupid Cupid'. 'Black Heart', a Stooshe song, (a new one on me). From the minute Stacey walked on stage she had a smile on her face. Adele's 'Skyfall' was impressive. The crowd was clapping along to 'Tell Me Ma' and 'Country Roads' as a medley. A good start to the evening’s entertainment.
Si Sonata looked very smart in a shiny grey suit with a burgundy shirt, (like the shoes). Si opened with 'Don't Rain On My Parade', 'Somebody Like You', one from the 60's. 'Baby Now That I've Found You', (The Foundations). Si did a fine job, all his songs were well received. One from the distant past was a Sinatra song, 'Luck Be A Lady', Andy Williams, 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You’, Si's final song was' 'We'll Meet Again'.
KtStar looked stunning in a blue and silver floor length dress an silver shoes, (like the shoes), Katie has a superb voice. In her set she sang the songs of Shirley Bassey, 'Diamonds Are Forever', Adele, 'To Make You Feel My Love', an Etta James song, 'At Last'. Fab Katie... The members were transfixed with her lovely voice. There was a song from Les Miserable, 'I Dreamed a Dream'. A change in style when Katie sang, 'I Put A Spell On You'. 'I'm Alive'.'I Need A Hero', a Bonnie Tyler song! Wow, what a mix from this lady... And more for the dancers.’ I Will Always Love You' and 'Big Spender'...
The final act tonight was the cheeky chappy himself, Thomas Henry. He too looked very smart in a suit shirt and tie; (Like the shoes, Red) ... His first song was Enrique Iglesias ,'Hero'.
