Ossett Central club was my first call tonight; on stage was a young singer called James David from Lancashire. He has a good voice, well dressed and Lts. James carries good equipment. He was already on stage when I got there and was going well. A few of his songs were, Culture Club’s, ‘Karma Chameleon’, ‘I’ll Never Get Over You’, a Johnny Kidd And The Pirates song, ‘Don’t Ever Change’, a song by the Crickets and Queens, ‘We Will Rock You’. A very enjoyable set from James David.

My second call was Westgate Common for the Sunday country music night where Dick Ryman was doing his stuff. There were line dancers there on the floor tonight. Mr Ryman has a pleasant voice and was dressed in a country western outfit. Again the artiste was on stage when I arrived. Some of his songs were, ‘Singing The Blues’. The artistes reached number 1 with his song, Guy Mitchell and Tommy Steele, both back in 1957. There was a song called, ‘Some Beach Somewhere‘,that the members seemed to know, (A new one on me). his last song in the set was an old favourite, ‘Truck Drivin’ Man’.
