The Nash, (Albion Street WMC), in Castleford was the place to be tonight; on stage was the Beautiful Audrey Parsons looked fabulous in a short black / white sequined dress, like the shoes. Her first song was, 'Rolling In The Deep', followed by, 'The First Cut Is The Deepest'. I liked Natalie Umbruglias 'Torn'. Audrey has superb voice, a great range and a wide repertoire to go with her P.A. system.
She went amongst the audience to sing, 'You Can Leave Your Hat On'. Audrey sat with me as everyone sang Happy Birthday, thank you Audrey were many more songs, including Cindy Lauper's, Chains. And Pink's 'Try'.
Well done Audrey.
Nevisons Leap Pub, Pontefract.
On stage was Danny Barton looking very smart in a three piece suit, shirt and tie, like the shoes. Danny has a good voice and sang in his set Neil Diamonds, 'Sweet Caroline'. For my birthday he sang a Temptations song, 'My Girl', Bobby Darin's, 'Mack The Knife'. The last song I heard Danny sing was Take That’s, ‘Rule The World'. A great set Danny Barton... For an encore he sang Blue’s, ‘Breathe Easy'. It was good to see Donna Marie, George Barton, Robbie Jay, Donna Maskill and the Nevison Leap's Landlord, Dave Ogley.
Stone Creek At Gilly's CMC.
It was house full again at Gilly's when Stone Creek was the entertainment, they looked great in what I would describe as western saloon outfits, different?. 'Down The Road', was the opening song in the set I saw, the lead guitarist played part of the 'Post Horn Gallop' on a stethoscope. More songs were, 'Stars On The Water'. 'There's Teardrops In My Eyes', 'Miners Silver Ghost', by Dan Fogelberg. There was, 'Foggy Mountain Breakdown', played at double speed. Lots of comedy from the stage, "Ain't That Right Boys ?".
They finished their show with, 'Ghost Riders In The Sky' on banjos.
Stone Creek play exclusively at Gilly's every year; I'm waiting for the next time... For an encore Stone Creek sang The Rolling Stones, 'Honkey Tonk Woman'. Another great night at, Gilly's CMC.pub
