Super Show At Gilly's CMC...
Wow! what a show from the McKenzie Duo at Gilly’s tonight; they had just started their firsts set when I arrived and the music and singing coming from the stage was excellent stuff. Zoey and Kenny are the two people in
the duo. Both have super voices, note perfect harmonies, both play guitars with Kenny on lead and Zoey on rhythm; sure there are some backing tracks made themselves in their own studio. The stage wear is good in fact Zoey did a few fast changes before your very eyes.
Some of the songs were, ‘It’s been A Good Year For The Roses’,a George Jones Song, ‘Blue’ which was a song written for Patsy Cline but recorded by Leanne Rhymes and a Merle Haggard song called ’Silver Wings’. There
were a few humorous moments which went down well and a medley of western tunes; (they were very impressive) played on guitar by Kenny. I liked the Willie Nelson version of, ‘You Were Always On My Mind. A top night of country music by the McKenzie Duo. I look forward to seeing them again.
