Tonight in a busy concert room in Glasshoughton Wmc was JJ Benjamin, well dressed, he has a good sound system. JJ has an excellent voice and is of the old school who reads his audiences and Chooses his songs accordingly. He opened with a Bee Gees hit song, 'Words', one from Gerry And The Pacemakers, 'Ferry Across The Mersey'. JJ's voice sure is rich; there was a request from a lady in the audience for a Roy Orbison song was, 'You Got It'. And yes, JJ obliged. One by the Beautiful South was, 'A Song For Whoever', I was often confused by the opening line of this song which was, 'I Love You From The Bottom Of My Pencil Case'. There was one by Dion And The Belmont's, 'Teenager In Love'. JJ carries some excellent backing tracks. The next song, 'Halfway To Paradise', one of Billy Fury's hits. One by David Alexander, was The 'Working Man'. Another by Billy Fury was, 'I Like It '. A good selection of songs from JJ Benjamin, a good set from JJ Benjamin..
