Tonight I am venturing out to the Nash,
On stage tonight it's Donna Marie from Hull; Donna looked lovely in her stage outfit, long black trousers, a white top and a silver sparkly belt, like the shoes. She has a terrific voice, her opening song was, 'No More The Fool'. There followed a Neil Diamond song, 'Forever In Blue Jeans', wow, she sang this one really well. Donna also sings in a duo with her daughter, Becky. I liked a Tammy Wynette country song, 'Your Good Girls Gonna Go Bad'. Donna sure has wide repertoire, next was, 'Sometimes When We Touch'. See what I mean? There was an Elvis Presley song, 'The Wonder Of You'. Another song that was about Elvis, 'Walking In Memphis'. The final song in the set was, 'Where The Boys Are' a Connie Francis hit. A superb set from Donna Marie.
Gilly's Traditional Country Music Club, Welcomes Desert Wind
You will more than likely know that the club is held each Tuesday night in Westgate Common WMC. The two lead guitarists, are Peter and Andy, Jim is on Bass guitar and Terry’s on drums. The lead singers are Andy and Jim. They opened the set with, 'The Partner That Nobody Chose', I liked the instrumental but I didn't catch the name. I did like a song called 'Baton Rouge'. There were some lovely three part harmonies from the guys. There were many more songs and I just loved listening to the music. What a great sound from, DESERT WIND.
