Glasshoughton WMC Welcomes Jimmy Echo. Just how many years has Jimmy been on the club's circuit. A lot I know; It's always a pleasure seeing him, he has a great voice, good sound equipment and is a class guitarist. All the sounds from the stage come from Jimmy, his own home produced tracks, his guitar and his voice. Tonight, as always, looking good, he opened his show with. Looking around the busy concert room I saw entertainers who, like I do, admire Jimmy's skills. A few well chosen comedy one liners make a good night of entertainment. A couple of the songs that stood out for me were, tonight he opened with a Ronan Keating song, 'Life Is A Roller Coaster', A Drifters song was,'It's Gonna Be An All Night Party'. More of Ronan Keating's hits, The Eagles were featured, the song was one new to me, 'Love Will Keep Us Alive', like that one and it suits Jimmy's voice too. One of Willie Nelson's, 'There You Are', what a super song. A Stevie Wonder song was, 'Lately'. Jim closed this set with an Everly Brothers hit, 'Crying In The Rain'. A great mix of songs from the incomparable Jimmy Echo..
Don't forget the Junior Talent competition here in Glasshoughton club. I called in to the Ship in Horbury Bridge that was very busy last night. I was met with the news that Iain and Kirsty have left the pub: they are taking over the Railway in Mirfield. This was very sudden, I wish them every success. They were certainly doing a great job in the Ship.
