Staincliffe Welcomes ... John Fitzpatrick...
The club was very busy, tonight from the opening of the doors: why? The artiste tonight, 'John Fitzpatrick', he is a good attraction to this club. He opened his set with Matt Monro's, 'How Do You Do'. As always he looked immaculate on stage. I'm not going to list his songs just the odd ones, he has a mountain of songs in his repertoire. John is a very good all round entertainer. Some of the songs are by top artistes from the 50's to the 80's and up to date with two or three. John sang one I particularly like called,'Red', the artiste, Daniel Merryweather, one from Les Miserable, 'Stars'. I'll have a word with ALW and see if we can get John on the West End. I met a few people in the club I hadn't seen for a while, two of them had wins on the bingo; Sharon missed out tonight, she didn't buy any tickets...I liked John's new tie. This was presented to him by a lady we know. The Searchers and the Backstreet Boys were featured in John's show. The Answer was written by Bert Bacharach and first recorded by, Del Shannon. There was a Tony Christie song.... Ah! Which one?. A Take That song. A top show from John Fitzpatrick...
