It's Sonya here in a busy Nash, (Albion Street WMC). Wearing a very bright multi coloured dress from she made herself. Like the shoes Sonya. She was in fine voice with her songs and with the off the cuff comedy. There were songs by, Shakin' Stevens, The Dave Clarke Five, Dusty Springfield, Sonya made a great job of, 'You Don't Have To Say You Love Me', during her show Sonya sang. ‘Perfect’, a Fairground Attraction song. One we don't hear much these days is Millie's, 'My Boy Lollipop', another was Ann Shelton's and Petula Clark's , 'Sailor', Sonya's last song in this very entertaining set was Elvis's, Can't Help Fallng in Love' in the UB40 style... What an entertainer, in ‘Sonya’.
Gilly's was reasonably busy tonight; there lots of the usual people were on holiday. On stage was the Cheshire duo, Twin Falls. two guys , Peter and Alec both on guitars with drums and bass on tracks, and very nice they sounded too. They opened the set I saw with, Louisiana Way'. The next one was, wait for it....'Peach Picking Time In Georgia'. Honest, that's what they said! 'Don't Think Twice It's Alright', a Bob Dylan song, this was followed by a real lively, 'I'm Just. A Country Boy', a Don Williams favourite. Some nifty guitar work there guys. The last song, 'I'm A Natural Sinner', was an Andy Fairweather Low song. A great duo, Twin Falls...
