Fourth Heat Of Wakefield Star Search.
Westgate Common was fairly busy tonight for this heat; Stuart Eden opened the show with a song and he introduced the Judges, announced the Sponsors and then….
Introduced the first entrant, South Kirkby lady, ‘Demmi’ who is a singer I have seen many times both in competition and on the clubs circuit.
She was dressed well for the stage, (Lts). Demmi has a magnificent voice and in her set sang, ‘Son Of A Preacher Man’, ‘Midnight Train To Georgia’ and ‘You Don’t have To Say You Love Me’. A good opening
act, well done Demmi.
Next was Kayleigh who has an opera trained voice, she looked good in her stage outfit, (Lts). Kayleigh sang in hers set, ‘Hopelessley Devoted To You’ and a super version of ‘I Will Always Love You’.
Our next act was a two girls duo called, ‘Bellisimo’. Sophie and Emma looked good in their stage attire, (Ltbs) make up this duo; two lovely voices and some good harmonies. they sang in their set, ‘Bad Romance’, ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ and ‘Beneath You’re Beautiful’. Yet another good act…
After the interval Stuart introduced, Paige, Nicola and Nikita who are, ‘Karma’. They were dressed in modern stage outfits,(Lts); their voices are individually good and the harmonies were beautiful. A couple of thior songs were, ‘DNA’, a Little Mix Song and ‘Waterfall’ by TLC.
The final act was a soul and Motown singer called Lionel who was very smart in a dark stage suit and a silver shirt, (Lts). Lionel sang in his set, ‘Soul Man’, ‘In Your Eyes’ and ‘My Girl’.
The standard tonight was very good but as always only three can go to the next stage; they are, in no particular order, Demmi, Karma and Kayleigh…
Hard luck to the other two acts, Bellismo and Lionel…
