Clear Cut In Gilly’s CMC…
It was a really cold night on Tuesday when I went out. Cold? 'I had to snap a dog off a lamp post'. Gilly’s wasn’t quite as full as usual but it was reasonably busy. On stage was father and son duo, ‘Clear-Cut who are very popular here at Gilly’s. The sound is good and the singing very easy to listen to; as I have said on many occasions, Gilly’s club is a listening club. Don and Darren sang in the first set, Don Gibson’s,‘Sea Of Heartbreak’, Don Williams, ‘My Best Friend, Willie Nelson’s, ‘On The Road Again’. Don’s son Darren is quite an accomplished musician, he plays guitar, Keyboards and the piano accordion and is an excellent harmoniser. I heard a song called, ‘Islands’, by Eddie Ravens, I think that was the name of the original artiste, if not maybe you will know, anyway I liked it. Yet another good night of country music at Gilly’s...
