Hanging Heaton WMC Presents.
A fund raising show on behalf of St Gemma's Hospice, a Hospice for. Local people who have in curable illnesses. Opening the show was compere. Big 'G'. He opened with his latest hit recording, 'Fever', (AKA Beaver), He went on to introduce the first artiste, 5th Avenue, Claire and Paul, a class duo. Their first song was 'Footloose', followed by 'Mr Blue Sky'. Both Claire and Paul have cracking voices, good equipment and know their way around it. More songs were, ‘Journey’s, ‘Don’t Stop Believing', I liked the Meatloaf song, 'You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth'. An excellent show from 5th Avenue.
Next up was Ricky Alan; he has a good strong voice. His first song was, ‘Some Guys Have All The Luck', another Meatloaf followed, 'I Would Do Anything For Love', Alan closed his set with Bon Jovi’s 'Bed Of Roses'. A great set from Ricky Alan.
The next artiste was a young lady I have seen around but never heard her singing, Kay Gunn is her name, a lovely looking girl and has a nice voice. Her stage wear was impressive with a sequinned dress, like the shoes, Some of Kay's songs were, ‘Hit Me With Your Best Shot'. Most of her songs tonight were for the dancers one of them was Tina Turner’s, ‘The Best'. A good set from Kay, this was my first viewing and I liked what I saw and heard.
The Upton Girl, this is a lady called Charlie Grace. She sang songs from the 80’s, she looked good in a pink skirt and top, ‘No Shoes'. Her songs were, 'Like A Prayer'. 'Shattered Glass'. And Tiffany's, 'I Think We’re Alone Now'. I like this lady who has a good strong voice and a terrific personality. Charlie finished her set with DJ Sami and Yanou’s,'Heaven'... Loved it/
The club could have done with more support for this worthy cause, however around £250 was raised for St Gemmas.
