Willow Park Auditions
Tonight we have, The Sumz, (their spelling), a male duo from Sheffield.
Two guitars duo, Craig is on lead guitar and Kevin on bass guitar make up the duo. Their opening song was, ‘Love Really Hurts', a Billy Oceans Song, two good strong voices. Sing number two was Del Shannon's 'Runaway', there were drums and a synthesiser on tracks. There was a queen song, A CrazyThing Called Love'. Songs by Bryan Adams, one I haven't heard in the club's was, The Mavericks, 'Dance The Night Away', a different version of Tom Jones, 'Delilah', the final song in the set was an Elvis song, 'Jailhouse Rock'. A good rock and roll duo. The Sumz
Ellen Roy, from Morley,
This young lady has a good voice, no, a lovely voice. I had just heard a couple of lines when she was testing her sound system which is also very good. Ellen looked beautiful in her stage outfit, a black trouser suit. Like the shoes. She opened her set with a Patsy Cline song, 'Hurt Me And Get It Over', the second song was another country song, 'What I Got In Mind', next was a Beautiful South hit, 'Rotterdam', another couple of songs were, 'Stuck On You', and, 'Mr Rock And Roll', an Ami McDonald song. Well, Ellen certainly uses the stage. One from, The Shirelles, 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow'. Ellen's last song was a Connie song, 'Who's Sorry Now'. Quite a good set from this young lady.
Laura Herby from Bradford was on stage next, she has a nice easy to listen to voice. Most of her songs I didn't know but hey she can sing. The backing tracks were a guitar sound in acoustic style. Unfortunately I had to leave so I didn’t catch any more of her set.
Just waiting for photographs now.
