Double Bill In Alverthorpe WMC.
Lauren Faye Moss shared the stage at Alverthorpe club tonight, first on was Lauren looking as always lovely in her stage outfit. Lauren has a tremendous voice. She sings the tributes to Lady Gaga, Barbara Streisand, Lady Gaga, and Amy Winehouse, some of her songs were, by the Beatles, and the previously mentioned acts. Lauren does a multi – tribute show, I particularly liked the Lady Gaga songs. There was an Yvonne Ellerman song, ‘If I Can’t Have You’, Adele’s. ‘Rolling In The Deep’ ,and Ike and Tina Turner’s ’River Deep Mountain High, a superb set from this lovely girl, Lauren Faye Moss.
Next up were. ‘The Inflations’, who are a unique comedy duo. There were other members of their show in the form of blow up dolls. The results are very funny, good musicians. The ‘Doom Of Gloom’ was excellent as is all the comedy, the voices are good and so are the harmonies. It wouldn't be fair to describe everything in their show. You really have to go and see it for yourself. There were tributes to, Elvis, Queen, Andy Williams, the Jersey Boys, (With the blow up dolls)'. In the Inflations show tonight were comedy versions of a Meatloaf song, 'I Would Do Anything For Love', A Bat Out Of Hell' with hilarious results. For an encore they Sang 'Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad'. Yes folks, you really have to see, 'The Inflations'...
The Admiral Duncan was really buzzing tonight; on my way home I dropped in to see the eight piece Solicitors band, Wow! They were really in top form. The front man is Bob Thomas and if he can't get a party started, then nobody can. I caught some of the last set and from the very first note the dance floor was full. Just a few of the songs I heard were, 'Higher And Higher', 'Bare Footin', 'This Old Heart Of Mine' and 'Dancing In The Street'. They were still going strong when I left.
It was great seeing lots of my friends in there, there were, Jim and Mandy Hardisty, Carla and Shelley Petts and lots more.
