It was a very cold December night in Pontefract; I called in to
The Prince of Wales WMC. Not a lot in but it is between
Christmas and New Year. The artiste tonight is Jimmy Echo.
Jimmy has been in the business a good few years but is still as
good as ever. The voice is good as is his sound equipment.
He opened his show with Don McLean a song called, 'Vincent',
all his backing tracks Jimmy makes himself and plays a mean
guitar too. The second song was, 'Nikita', an Elton John hit
recording; then he sang a Ray Charles song, 'You Don't Know Me'. A few funny one liners in between, I liked the Santa Claus joke, very topical. Other songs were by Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson, Jimmy had the members in the palm of his hands which, as he says, was difficult when he's playing the guitar.
A first class performance from the Legendary, "Jimmy Echo".
