Tonight Pat and I took our grand daughter, Trinitie out to see,
Jim Santana, in Alverthorpe club. I wasn't aware she liked Elvis Presley, a surprise every day. Tonight it was Jim and his lovely wife Mandy, she sings the harmonies and plays the Tambourine. Jim appeared in a white Elvis jump suit complete with Rhinestones and Mandy in a long gold sequinned ball gown, like the shoes. Jim opened his first set with, a good old Elvis rocker, 'Blue Suede Shoes', 'Stuck On You'. Yes folks, Mandy's tambourine was tuned in. I liked the one from GI Blues, 'Did You Ever', it was good to hear that one again. One from Blue Hawaii, there were many more in Jim's very entertaining show; Trinitie loved every minute of it. Mandy changed to the Maracas for the next song, 'Viva Las Vegas' and, yes, they were in tune too. Now, back to the Tambourine for 'Teddy Bear' and Don't Be Cruel'. A brilliant show from Jim and Mandy. Jim has obviously studied all the Elvis moves and put them into full use tonight. An excellent show. Jim announced from the stage that future shows are with the MIDNIGHT VEGAS BAND, so keep your eyes and ears open for future dates. I can tell you a couple; one is in Crigglestone Club on Friday 9th January and one in Castleford
at The Phoenix Theatre on Saturday April 11th. I'm looking
forward to these shows...
