B&S Club Feeatherston Full.
It's good to see a full club and Tonight was a full house on Friday; on stage was Angie and Paul who are 'Picture This,' They carry a good sound and some effective lights. A few of their songs were, 'The One And Only', 'Merry Christmas Everyone', Dr And The Medics, 'Spirit In the Sky'. 'Price Tag', a Jessie J song. Songs by 'Here I Go Again On My Own'. 'Poker Face',a lady Gaga song 'Don't Stop Believing', a Journey song. They ended the first set with a Take That song, 'Rule The World'. The Harmonies from Angie and Paul are as close as anyone could possibly get, the backing tracks are top class. 'Rule The World' I have never heard sung better than, 'Picture This'.
In the B&S I bumped into a gentleman I haven't seen for many years; he is Ray Kelly. Ray was in a band that was formed at Horbury WMC for charity purposes. I wish they were still together. At the time Ray was Horbury's club Steward. he was also landlord at The Slipper in Crofton, near Wakefield, Pudsey Liberal club and one in Pontefract, Nevison's Leap. Do you know what made me feel good that night? there were lots of people who came to say "Hello Mr T", some were customers when Pat and I had the Railway Hotel in Featherstone. Happy Days.
The Admiral Duncan was really busy and I mean busy. A young guy
called Ricky Smith, an acoustic guitarist singer was doing his stuff. Lots
of original and covers; one of his covers was a Beatles number, 'I Saw Her
Standing There'.
The main attraction was Matt Hodges band, Red Dog. Their music is varied with covers And couple of originals for good measure.
I would have liked to stay longer but I had another call. I will catch upwith this fine band ata later date... If you see Red Dog advertised and like soft rock and a bit of country, this is a band for you...
