Dean AlexanderIn Ossett Central...
Dean appeared on stage dressed in a very smart dark stage suit; his opening song tonight was a Michael Buble song, 'I Just Haven't Met You Yet'. What a super tenor voice and a note perfect head voice. The Stylistics featured with, 'Stone In Love' which as you will know was a Johnny Mathis hit followed by a Dion And The Delmonts hit. 'Run-around Sue', 'Runaway', by Del Shannon, Billy Fury's 'Halfway To Paradise'. 'The Impossible Dream'. A good first set from Dean Alexander...
Set two opened with an Elvis song,'Devil In Disguise', a Stylistics hit with, 'I Can't Give You Anything, (But My Love)'. There were a few more Elvis and Stylistics in this set. Gene Pitney's', '24 Hours From Tulsa', more light opera followed. There were 1970's and 80's. Then we had Gary Barlow's, 'Let Me Go'. Some of the current years hits were included in Dean's set.
Dean's last set was more of the up tempo songs, some of these songs were requested in the interval. One was was for Colleen who travelled from Blackpool with her husband, Alan, 'Bring Him Home'. This was greeted with enthusiastic applause. Then came the dance songs, 'Blurred Lines'. 'Human', the dancers were on the floor, 'Love Really Hurts Without You'. Another good night out for Pat and me in the company of Colleen and Alan Pilborough and Brian Cliff...
