Alverthorpe Club Welcomes Dean.
Dean Alexander was, as always, immaculate in a shining silver grey three piece suit and a matching tie, like the shoes. His first song was, 'Big Girls Don't Cry', Dean has an exceptional voice which the members loved from the very first song. Anything from Opera to Musicals to Pop and from many eras. For example the Platters's, 'Only You'. Dean appeared in the prestigious Blackpool Command show last year where he was a great hit; he also sings in a duo with KtStar called, Epica which is a opera to musicals crossover. If you haven't yet seen this show, look out for them... I liked Dean's version of, 'The Impossible Dream. I was sitting with some friends who loved Dean's performance. Two more of Dean's songs were,' Walk Like A Man' and a Conway Twitty song, 'It's Only Make Believe'. An excellent set from, Dean Alexander.
There were many from the charts over the years, if you like the balance of music from the pops to the Operas, look out for Dean Alexander and Epica with KtStar. I'm sure you won't be disappointed...
I called in at the Admiral Duncan tonight where there was an open mic night; I had been told about two young ladies with exceptional voices, they were Beth and Emily. Two terrific singers, they sang as a duo for a song called ’Domino’, a Jessie J song. The harmonies were lovely to hear. Then Beth sang and played the keyboard as she sang a song called ’Titanium’. A new one on me but it sounded very good and Bth was quite good on the keyboard. I’m looking forward to seeing both girls again. Y’know, I think they would be good as a permanent duo…
