The Nash Busy Again...
Tuesday night is usually when I get the chance to visit the Albion Street WMC in Castleford, (Aka, ‘The Nash’). On stage tonight was Darren York from Barnsley who spent some years in Tenerife, (He’s been around a bit). Darren has a great voice and personality. His comedy is observation comedy and doesn’t actually tell jokes; in the first set he sang Steve Harley and Cockney Rebels ‘Make me Smile’, The Casual’s, ‘Jesamine’, ‘Edison Lighthouse’s,’Love Grows’ and a couple of Rod Stewart’s songs. I personally enjoyed the Foster and Allen’s, ‘Maggie’. Darren had the crowd on his side from song one; there was some great banter with members of the audience which brought lots of laughter. Great stuff Darren York...
