I went to the Wakefield & District Concert Secretaries Federation Showcase at the Moorthorpe Empire WMC tonight; after the meeting Anne Christie compered a showcase. Due to another place I had to be I only caught two acts. After Anne had sung a couple of songs, a Katrina And The Waves song, 'I'm Walking On Sunshine' and the Mama Cass hit,'It’s Getting Better', she introduced Huddersfield singer, Colby Gray; he was in a rock band for ten years and has decided to try his hand solo. He was dressed top to toe in black, he has a good voice and sang in his set, ‘Suspicious Minds’, the Kenny Rogers song, ‘Lucille’ and Tom Jones’ ‘Delilah’.
Anne introduced Richie Padre who looked immaculate in a tuxedo. He has a
good strong voice and sang some of the Four Seasons songs, what a super falsetto he has in his voice,‘Sherry Baby ‘Walk Like a Man’ , ‘Rag Doll’ in a medley. He closed his show with a Motown medley…
At this point I had to leave and I hope the rest of the night went well…
