JONATHAN CARROLL
The Castleford Starsearch Glasshoughton WMC
Needs entrants for this prestigious competition. Ring Steve Paige on 07771 535507 for entry form or email [email protected]
Great cash prizes to be won... 1st Prize £1,200 2nd£500 and 3rd £300...be in it to win it... Where are all the duos, specialty acts, comedians etc. Surely there must be something different out there.
Tonight there were only four acts competing
as some acts just didn’t turn up and don’t let Steve know. After Jonathan Carroll’s opening song,‘How Long Has This Been Going On’, he introduced the judges and Steve on sound. The first contestant was York singer, ‘Thomas Henry’.
Wow; he was dressed in a black outfit. A couple of songs in his set were ‘Chasing Cars and If Tomorrow Never Comes’.
Next was Wakefield’s Jamie McKnight who was dressed in a grey suit. He sang in his spot, ‘Hot Stuff and One Night Only’.
After the interval and another Jonathan Carroll song, ‘Turn Your Love Around’ he introduced Bradford singer, ‘Robbo’. He is a swing singer and quite good too I have to say; I just loved the old Billy Daniels song, ‘That Old Black Magic’ and the Bobby Darin Version of ‘Don’t Rain On My Parade’. The final act was Pontefract singer John Aspinall. I remember John from last year and again, I have to say that his voice has improved 100%. A couple of his songs were, ‘Home and Make You Feel My Love’. A good show even if there were acts missing.
Only three acts can go on to the next round and they were, in no
particular order; Thomas Henry,Jamie McKnight and Robbo.
Come on now you artistes, let’s have YOUR entry; as I said earlier, “Be In It To Win It”.
